Meet The Production Team

We have a brilliant team who work ‘behind the scenes’ to make sure our events, shows and concerts happen smoothly whilst looking and sounding great!

Ricky Johnson - Production Manager/Lighting Designer

Ricky began his theatrical career at the tender age of ten when he starting helping at Rushden Amateur Operatic Society, learning how to build sets from scratch.
Since then, he’s worked on a wide range of shows with Team Eventex for Wellingborough Operatic, Wellingborough Panto, Kilburn School of Dance and other local societies, starting as crew and climbing the ranks to Stage Management. These shows have offered him great opportunities to learn more skills and most recently he was invited to be trained to fly actors for The Wizard of Oz, just before the pandemic.
In 2006, Ricky joined Sharnbrook Mill Theatre to assist with set building – he’s had the joy of building plain and simple sets plus more technically challenging designs including the lift for Thoroughly Modern Millie and the water feature in The Secret Garden but his proudest moment was (almost!) single-handedly building the multi-level set for Wyrd Sisters.
In 2019, Ricky was asked to be Lighting Designer for Wait Until Dark and since has designed The Railway Children, Daisy Pulls It Off, Duets and The Last 5 Years… and for anyone who doesn’t already know, he won (with the help of Mark) NODA’s Best Technical Award for the appearance of the train in our 2019 production of The Railway Children!
In December 2021, Ricky was Production Stage Manager, Lighting Designer and Set Builder for the multi-award winning Once Upon A Christmas Song.

Mark is an experienced Sound Designer and Engineer working with local bands, small festivals and events. He is also Resident Sound Designer at Sharnbrook Mill Theatre. His first play was Wait Until Dark, in Spring 2019. Since then, he’s also designed sound for the Canadian folk duo Madison Violet, and the productions Daisy Pulls it Off, The Railway Children, Duets, Once Upon A Christmas Song and The Last Five Years.
